The Investiture of President Dwight A. McBride: Call for Videos

We are pleased to invite alumni and friends to submit a short video message to congratulate President McBride, which will be live-streamed during his Investiture Ceremony taking place on October 7, 2021.

Please take a few moments to share your sentiments on video. Your recorded message can be a few brief words of congratulations, a spirited cheer for The New School, or a more personal reflection for President McBride. You can speak for just a few seconds or up to a minute. While videos may be edited for length in the compilation to be shown at the Ceremony, all will be shared with President McBride.

Recording and uploading your video message is simple and quick:
1. Record your greeting using your phone in a horizontal position.
2. Do your best to shoot in good light and in a quiet area.
3. Project your voice loudly and clearly to override any ambient noises.
4. Once you press the record button, wait a full second before speaking. And after you finish speaking, wait a full second before stopping the video recording.
5. Feel free to do a “second take” and send both! Our video editor will decide which is better to use.
